Ready to step outside Odessa and explore the city’s suburbs? You’ll be surprised to find out that besides scenic views they keep traces of a UNESCO Heritage sight and a Europe’s oldest fortress.

On this tour, in a company of your private guide you’ll drive outside Odessa to see the town of Belgorod-Dnestrovksy and the ”White Fortress,” which history dates back to the Middle Ages. You’ll see the remains of the town, founded by the ancient Greeks on the picturesque shores of the Dniester river delta and hear exciting legends of the area, which inspired some of the greatest poets, and explore traces of different cultures, while walking around the fortress.

The tour continues with a visit to the Shabo wine factory, founded hundreds of years ago by the Swiss colonists. The guided excursion to the wine factory will introduce you into the history of local wine making: from the times of ancient Greeks to modern days. You’ll hear exciting stories of different peoples who populated the area and contributed into local wine making, see century old cellars, once visited by famous Russian poet Alexander Pushkin and King Carol ll of Romania, and modern wine making facilities. And you’ll certainly sample a selection of local wines and receive tips from an expert.
